Cae's hair color and style is as ephemeral as her moods. Jandelaine has probably purchased and outfitted multiple mansions from the sheer number of appointments she's made. With that said, her hair is most often white or black in a Gyr Abanian plait, a practical yet eye-catching updo from her place of origin.
Skin
Tanned, but dusky rather than ruddy due to her Keeper heritage. Her tribal marks, stripes on both sides of her face and part way down her forehead, are a soft white. An uneven smattering of freckles is splashed across the bridge of her nose and reflected on her shoulders and back.
Eyes
Gold, almond-shaped, and quite slanted. As a Keeper, her pupils are large and round.
Clothing
Since it is hot in the desert, Cae is usually in flowy, light outfits. She favors bandeau-style tops and loose, non-restrictive pants. When at work or on the road, Cae likes her gear full of pockets, hooks, and straps to keep her tools within easy reach.

Temperament
Cae is impulsive and chases theories and ideas without thinking them through. She will doggedly pursue her goals until she has either reached them or is forced to stop out of sheer exhaustion. She needs her friends to help keep her obsessiveness in check.It is actually a wonder to her that she has said friends, as she is an incredibly shy Miqo'te and awkward beyond saving in social situations. However, when the mood takes her, she can be unexpectedly chatty and is a very open individual, once she trusts that she is not a burden to those around her.It is not unusual for her to act out around someone when she becomes comfortable with them. Perhaps it is her way of testing their friendship and intentions… or perhaps she just likes sparking a little something and enjoying the fireworks. :)
Moral/ethical beliefs
Cae tries her very hardest to do no harm, but her tendency to overthink makes it difficult for her to make the best decisions for all involved. It is far too easy to overwhelm her with options and considerations until she gives up on making the right choice altogether.
Religious beliefs
Having a strong affinity with learning, mastery, and making things with her own hands, Cae holds Thaliak in high regard. However, she is no fan of dogma and values critical thinking over faith.
Political stance
Cae feels a strong prejudice against those identifying as Garlean, being from the oft-besieged villages at the base of the Ala Mhigan highlands. Some of it stems from personal trauma, but she is willing to see past it on a case-by-case basis given enough evidence of goodwill.On a smaller, less national scale, Cae left her Keeper family for the M tribe of the Fringes. Being fairly solitary and absorbed in her own projects, however, she has no aspirations to win the favor of her Nunh. Or perhaps that is yet another manifestation of her Keeper nature.
Relationships
Female Keepers of the Moon are non-monogamous and choose their mates at will. Cae is no exception, having a primary partner she is bonded to for life, and other equally important partners she keeps close to her heart. While this is antithetical to the culture of her adopted Seeker family, where the Nunh breeds with all eligible females in their village, the M tribe gives Cae little grief for her practices.
Hobbies
One could say that Cae doesn't exist outside of her hobbies, and they'd be mostly right. Without something in her hands to fiddle with, a goal to grind for, or a problem to mull over, she feels lost and without a sense of purpose.Cae is a tinkerer and collector of memories in the form of trinkets, photographs, ideas, stories, and experiences. Nothing brings her more joy than successfully memorializing a moment in time. She will fly to the ends of the universe on the back of her uncomplaining petrel to find those breathtaking vistas and sights that make life worthwhile to her.To that end, she is also often locked away in the workshop tweaking her camera and equipment to better serve her next adventure.When not holed up with magitek, caffeine, and instant meals, Cae loves getting dirty in her garden and will spend weeks researching optimal crossbreeds for the sheer joy of it. With how all-consuming her projects are, it can be difficult to get a hold of her, so her friends often find it easier to call on her partners instead.
Habits
Cae is a fidgeter. She doesn't like sitting or standing still and there is always something to work on, or a problem to worry about. When she is preoccupied with her own thoughts, her ears lie subtly flatter and she swishes the end of her tail frenetically, a habit she finds hard to break and an obvious tell that she is not totally present.In a group, she is silent more often than not, lost in the ebb and flow of the conversation. It takes a drink or two to talk her racing brain down and allow her to speak through her anxiety and self filters.
Quirks/eccentricities
Cae carries around a Pale Panther that Jore gave her ages ago. It's not exactly for luck, but seeing its spotty length in her bags brings a smile to her face that is often sorely needed. Her slimy but ever-cheerful mount serves a similar purpose.When not in an establishment, she is accompanied by her large and affectionate axolotl, adorned with the wayfarer necklace gifted to her by Telen. Seemingly named "Sausage", "Baby", "Hamburger", or "Ancient One" depending on who you ask, the happy pink bean has been her stalwart companion both in and out of game.
Likes
Cae likes things that spark feels. She likes beautiful landscapes, as well as terrible and bleak sights that make the normal feel like paradise. She likes a minimal, almost sterile aesthetic but also appreciates the exact opposite as evidenced by her garden overflowing with shrubs and hydrangeas, tulips and old roses. If it evokes a mood, she digs it.In terms of food: she greatly enjoys comfort foods that feed the soul as well as the body. But in practice, anything flies, as she is easily enthralled by culinary adventures.People: Cae gravitates towards those who are kind-hearted with some bite and equally passionate about their interests.Sex: Due to trauma, her preferences lean dark. She is conflicted about this, but can't help giving in to it.
Dislikes
Cae dislikes people who pretend to know more than they do, those who lack self-awareness and a desire to better themselves, and, more than anything else, those who take advantage of others.The sight of an imperial soldier will make her freeze in fear and hatred, and people with a similar look – namely pale-skinned and light-haired Hyurs – will find it hard to befriend her.Elezen, especially Wildwoods, bring up unresolved feelings of mutual suspicion due to unpleasant run-ins with Wood Wailers as a young Keeper in the Black Shroud.If a person has broken her trust or otherwise demonstrated a disregard for others' well-being, Cae will not forgive nor forget.
Fears
Life in an occupied territory was not easy for Cae and her adopted family. She finds herself often reliving the various and all-too-many incidents, wondering what she could have done to stop them. Memories of lost loved ones haunt her, driving her in her quest to memorialize the present, for her future self.
Strengths
Cae is as stubborn as a Dzo. She is not particularly skilled at anything other than magitek manipulation, and can be described as a mediocre jack of all trades, but will pursue whatever she sets her sights on to the ends of Hydaelyn.She is reserved but loves deeply once one gets through to her. In this way, she can be an invaluable ally and friend.
Weaknesses
Despite being technically-minded, Cae is too impulsive to formulate much of a plan under pressure and, worn down by endless "what if's", often relies on snap judgments. Which are promptly followed by deep regret.She is also a habitual procrastinator and is, more often than not, repressing some growing dread by throwing herself headfirst into yet another grind.
Short term goals
Cae is currently on a sniping kick and has discovered the joys of non-mortal combat. The focus required in these trials helps quiet her mind. She hopes to prove to herself that she can take an art and refine it to a recognisable degree of competence.She is always looking to improve her skill with her camera, and sets many iterative goals for herself in her quest for mastery.At home, Cae dreams of building a bright and airy conservatory for herself and Jore. Her elusive green cat requires inviting sitting spaces to come home for any length of time.
Long term goals
Living a long and fulfilling life with Jore, her partners, and her friends, while bettering the community around them.After spending too many decades of her life either living through or getting over less than savory circumstances, Cae just wants to enjoy the time she has now with the people she chooses to share it with.At the same time, she strongly believes in leaving things better than how one found them, so she spends much of her energy nurturing the grass on the side of the fence she has landed on.
Occupation
Cae found her dream job as a magitek technician at Garlond Ironworks after her independent development of a rudimentary photo capturing device impressed a scout looking for data from the cermet wreckage around the desert.These days, she works as one of many submersible architects and operators at the Rhlagr's Reach facility, building vessels to customers' specifications to aid in their quest for rare materials and trinkets. The access to the Ironworks workshop allows her to continue iteration on her camera and other related devices in her free time.
Skills
Cae is intimately familiar with the inner workings of submersibles and image capturing magitek.As she spends much of her time away from work in the wilds with her camera, she also knows just enough about basic survival to go a few days on her own before heading back to the closest town to rest and restock.While she is a stranger to the beastkin typically used for transportation, she is deft with her Eurekan Petrel and dreams of one day owning a stable full of the dangerous, happy slugs.
